Ms. Manson (Irma P. Hall) lives with her cat, a kind-hearted and wise woman, who becomes an obstacle in a casino vault heist. The mastermind behind the heist is the notorious Professor Higgins (Tom Hanks). He claims to be from the University of Mississippi, and his every move is filled with a poet's flair, which manages to deceive Ms. Manson. Under Higgins' leadership, a large group of various social types takes up residence in the apartment rented from Ms. Manson. There, they pretend to rehearse church songs while actually digging an underground tunnel to the vault. Of course, with such a daunting task, they have enough skilled labor to handle it. There’s a general who has dug tunnels, a props master from film sets, a black worker from the casino, and even a former American football player. Everyone is diligently "working," and success seems imminent, but little do they realize that Ms. Manson will become their nightmare...
