A girl survivor of the Armenian Genocide, Onara, escapes to America, recounts her personal experiences in a published book, and even has her story adapted into a Hollywood film where she re-enacts the tragedy. At the age of fourteen, she experienced the loss of her family, forcefully displaced by Ottoman soldiers, witnessing plunder, famine, rape, and murder, hoping for the dawn of a new day, she feels obligated to tell the truth of the genocide. After the release of the silent film starring her, it generated significant impact; copies had already been lost, with some now recovered. Inna Sahakyan, born in Armenia, retells her story of trauma through animation, combining these recovered fragments and Onara's interviews, reminding the world not to forget the atrocities of genocide.
