Silas (played by Method Man) is skilled at using herbs to treat various ailments. His best friend, Iffy (played by Chuck Davis), suggests that Silas should go to college to study medicine, but Silas does not take his friend's advice seriously. One day, after Iffy unfortunately passes away, Silas uses his ashes to create some peculiar seeds, which surprisingly grow into Iffy sprouts. It is only then that Silas starts to seriously consider taking the college entrance exam. When Jamal (played by Redman) has been aimlessly drifting in pre-college for six years, he realizes it's time to take the college entrance exam when his mother threatens to kick him out if he doesn't get his act together. In the parking lot, Silas and Jamal unintentionally ignite the Iffy sprouts, causing their friend's spirit to manifest, becoming their strongest ally.
