An honest con artist tells the incredible story of world-renowned magician, escapologist, and celebrated debunker, James "The Amazing" Randi. This film brings to life Randi's complex investigations, exposing wizards, faith healers, and the quasi-religious zealotry of con artists. The master trickster, who came out at 81, created an imaginary persona, a fake medium, and even made his partner of 25 years, José Alvarez, assume the false master name Carlos. However, it was recently discovered that José had also been living under a false identity, leaving it unclear whether Randi is still a con artist – or deceived.
