Laughing (played by Xie Tianhua) originally thought he was an undercover agent for the police, but due to a drug trafficking case, he was pursued by Inspector Pan SIR (played by Huang Rihua). In fact, before Laughing joined the police force, he was already a gang member, always working under his boss, Brother Yi (played by Huang Qiusheng). Brother Yi took great care of Laughing, who looked up to him like a brother. To protect his territory and illegal business, Brother Yi actually asked Laughing to apply to the police force, so he could keep track of police actions. Laughing excelled in police academy, but fate intervened, and he never had the chance to stay in the police force.
