The Demon King Bull Demon King (played by Aaron Kwok) battles against the deities led by the Jade Emperor (played by Chow Yun-fat). The celestial realm is destroyed, and Nuwa (played by Zhang Zilin) transforms into a crystal to repair the Heavenly Palace. A small piece of crystal falls to the human world and becomes a stone monkey, while the Bull Demon King is defeated and forced to hide with his wife Princess Iron Fan (played by Chen Qiaoen) in Flaming Mountain. Years later, the stone monkey is taught by Bodhi Ancestor (played by Hai Yitian) and is given the name Sun Wukong (played by Donnie Yen). Sun Wukong establishes himself as king at Flower and Fruit Mountain and steals the East Sea Dragon King's (played by Liu Hua) magic weapon, the Ruyi Jingu Bang. Meanwhile, the Bull Demon King is determined to make a comeback and uses Sun Wukong's feelings for his childhood friend, a little fox spirit (played by Xia Zitong), to incite him to cause chaos in Heaven, conspiring with Erlang Shen (played by Peter Ho) to damage the Southern Heavenly Gate. Sun Wukong is resolute, and the Heavenly Palace is in imminent danger.
