"Ah Niu's Arrival in the City" was a huge success. Directors Roma, Zhang Yang, and Liang Chuo team up once again to showcase the comedic talents of the dynamic duo from Singapore, Ye Feng and Wang Sha, solidifying their position as successors to the Eastern "Laurel and Hardy." Ah Niu (Ye Feng) is released from prison and reunites with his lover Ah Hua (Aidi), feeling a mix of emotions. To make a living, he returns to Hong Kong from Macau, facing hardships. Ah Niu finds a job but is deceived by Uncle Zhou (Wang Sha), ultimately ending up badly beaten and hospitalized. The doctor informs him that his days are numbered… Ah Niu's life is full of struggles, yet he remains optimistic, resonating with the impoverished masses. All the humor reflects the social dilemmas of the time, carrying a unique bitterness rather than just being purely silly.
