The Sword of Heaven and the Dragon Slaying Sabre, which once stirred up a series of conflicts in the martial world, is ultimately managed by the leader of the Ming Sect, Zhang Wuji (played by Eric Tsang). The two secret books, Nine Yin and Nine Yang, are entrusted to Zhou Zhiruo and Zhang Wuji, respectively. Shortly after, Zhu Yuanzhang ascends to the throne as emperor, and Song Qingshu (played by Michael Chan) uses his superb martial arts and disguise techniques to enter the palace as the national master, scheming to acquire several martial arts treasures. Song Qingshu devises a plan to kill Zhou Zhiruo and obtain the "Nine Yin True Classic." Zhang Wuji, while visiting the first master of Mongolia, General Tie Zhen (played by David Chiang), unexpectedly encounters Song Qingshu, who orders an attack on the Mongolian border civilians to frame the Ming Sect. Zhang Wuji has no choice but to conceal his identity and save the Mongolian princess (played by Cherie Chung). The three of them fall into a secret cave in Tianshan amidst the chaos. Song Qingshu successively obtains the Sword of Heaven and the Dragon Slaying Sabre along with the Nine Yin and Nine Yang, greatly increasing his power and becoming invincible. After Zhang Wuji and Tie Zhen are defeated, they learn the Nine Techniques of India in the secret cave, and the two of them lead Song Qingshu to Tianshan for a final showdown... This film is adapted from Jin Yong's novel "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre."
