At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Huang Chao’s rebel army attacks the Tang capital of Chang'an. Jin Wang Li Keyong (played by Gu Feng) is tasked with eliminating the rebels and reclaiming the capital. At that time, Li Keyong, a member of the Shatuo tribe, has an army of 100,000, with numerous fierce generals under his command, including the Thirteen Protectors formed by his adopted sons, known for their combat skills, bringing him great prestige.
