Young swordsman Long Fei (played by Er Dongsheng) is destined to spend his life with Zi Zhu (played by Pan Bingchang), the daughter of the head of a security bureau, Ding Peng. One day, while on official business, Long Fei learns from a man claiming to be a visitor from the underworld (played by Gu Guanzhong) that Zi Zhu's life is in danger. In a state of urgency, Long Fei hurries back and encounters a man in red (played by Yuan Hua) carrying a coffin. After a confrontation, the man in red escapes, and Long Fei discovers a wooden figure resembling Zi Zhu inside the coffin. Upon returning to the Ding family, he sees the figure of the deceased mistress from the neighboring Xiao family, who has been dead for two years. Strange occurrences continue one after another, causing great unease. Long Fei and his friend, Iron Tiger (played by Sun Jian), investigate together and uncover long-hidden secrets of the Ding and Xiao families...
