Iron Bridge Three (1813-1886), originally named Liang Kun, was from Nanhai County, Guangdong. From a young age, he was very fond of martial arts and traveled to seek out famous masters. Later, he had the opportunity to meet the great master of Hung Gar, Monk Jueyin from the Shaolin Temple in Putian, Fujian, whom he greatly admired for his martial skills. He thus became his disciple and entered the Nengren Temple on Baiyun Mountain in Guangzhou to practice. During his seven years in the temple, he received careful instruction from Jueyin, fully mastering his teacher’s true transmission, and became a representative figure after Hung Gar was introduced to Guangdong.
