Set in 1970s Germany, this film tells the story of a 14-year-old girl who descends into drug use and prostitution, step by step toward her downfall. 14-year-old Christiane (Natja Brunckhorst) comes from a broken home and lives with her mother and sister in an apartment in West Berlin. At that time, young people frequented a local disco named “Sound,” and accompanied by friends, she enters this psychedelic world. Here, she meets a boy named Detlev and his friends. At night, they often hang out on the streets together, and gradually, she falls in love with Detlev and tries drugs with him. To get money for drugs, Detlev goes to a place called the "Zoo" to find clients for prostitution. Initially, Christiane is unwilling for Detlev to do such things, but later she starts injecting drugs herself and begins going to the "Zoo."
