On one side, a romantic wedding has renewed the focus of Tora-san's (played by Kiyoshi Atsumi) lifelong quest for happiness among his family, who all hope that the kind-hearted Tora-san can find happiness. On the other side, far away in Hokkaido, Tora-san meets a woman named Imee (played by Kaoru Matsumoto), who is being harassed by bad people. Tora-san bravely steps in to help Imee drive away the troublemakers. Soon, a genuine friendship develops between Imee and Tora-san. Imee tells Tora-san that she is about to marry her fiancé, but at this pivotal moment, she begins to doubt her feelings for the man she is supposed to spend her life with. The upcoming wedding brings Imee no joy but rather increases her pressure. Imee comes to stay with Tora-san's family, and under their comfort and companionship, her inner turmoil gradually eases.
