A mysterious agency affiliated with the U.S. military is conducting research on invisibility technology. Scientist Sebastian Caine (played by Kevin Bacon) is the main leader of this team, and after years of effort, their research has shown initial success in animals. Eager for quick results, Sebastian ignores the instability of the drug and insists on trying it on himself. The invisibility effect of the drug is outstanding, but Sebastian cannot return to normal. Meanwhile, his partners Linda Foster (played by Elisabeth Shue) and Matt Kensington (played by Josh Brolin) rush to develop an antidote, while Sebastian increasingly enjoys the feeling of invisibility, allowing him to do as he pleases. To maintain his current state, he becomes increasingly unhinged... This film won the Best Visual Effects award at the 2001 Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films and the Audience Award at the 2000 Locarno International Film Festival.
