In a peaceful and remote rural area, twins Lukas (played by Lukas Schwarz) and Elias (played by Elias Schwarz) live a carefree life while waiting for their hospitalized mother to return home. One day, the two little boys, covered in mud, run back home and are excited to find that their mother (played by Susanne Wuest) has finally come back. However, she has a bandage wrapped around her head, making it hard to recognize her original appearance. In the following days, the children notice that their mother’s demeanor has become cold, and her behavior is filled with oddities. They even begin to suspect that she is not their real mother. The conflict between mother and sons escalates, as she forbids Elias and his brother Lukas from speaking, causing the boys to suffer immensely. What has pushed this family to the brink of destruction? What has gone wrong?
