The story is based on a true murder case that shocked America in 1981, where the killer, Arne Cheyenne Johnson, claimed he was possessed by an evil spirit when he killed his landlord, marking the first case in U.S. history where a defendant used "demonic possession" as a defense, thus known as the "Demon Murder Case." An 11-year-old boy, David, becomes possessed by an evil spirit and falls into a chaotic state, often seeing monsters and demons sitting in his favorite rocking chair, while strange wounds appear on his body… His terrified and helpless family calls in the Warrens to investigate. They discover that David is haunted by 43 demons, leading to his previously docile behavior becoming erratic, such as crawling on the ground like a beast, uttering nonsensical phrases, and even reciting Bible verses and passages from "Paradise Lost" that he has never read… The Warrens arrange for a priest to exorcise David, but there is no sign of improvement, and even more bizarre events follow, as David's sister's fiancé, Arne, also begins to behave unusually. Months later, Arne stabs the landlord to death with a knife. The Warrens believe that Arne was possessed by an evil spirit at the time of the killing, as David was also present during the exorcism…
