The movie's story is based on a long-standing true legend regarding a supernatural incident at Donghai University in Taichung, known as "Ghost Bridge": It is said that a female student was abandoned by her unfaithful boyfriend and, at midnight, jumped into the river from the bridge to end her life. Since then, multiple supernatural occurrences have taken place at that bridge, leading the students to name it "Ghost Bridge." In 2018, a student went live on the Ghost Bridge alone in the early morning, during which netizens suddenly noticed what appeared to be a woman dressed in white floating in the air among the trees in the live stream background.
