In the distant depths of the universe, with the destruction of Krypton, the legendary story of Superman begins. Kryptonian Jor-El (Russell Crowe) fiercely resists General Zod's (Michael Shannon) evil plan and risks sending his newborn son, Kal-El, to Earth on the other side of the galaxy.
