In 2018, the war between the Skynet system and humanity plunged the world into a post-apocalyptic scenario. The leader of the Resistance, John Connor (played by Christian Bale), gains a new insight on how to defeat Skynet during a mission. Meanwhile, Skynet releases a new target ranking, with Connor in second place, while his young father, Kyle Reese, remains at the top. At the same time, a strong man named Marcus (played by Sam Worthington), who has forgotten his past, appears in the ruins of Los Angeles. He meets Resistance fighter Reese by chance and they team up to head to the Resistance headquarters, but during the journey, they are attacked by machines, and Reese is captured. Lost and alone, Marcus is guided by Resistance warrior Blair, leading to his fateful encounter with Connor. However, the conflict between humans and machines forces Connor to view him as an enemy… While Reese's fate remains uncertain at Skynet's center, the Resistance's high command refuses to delay their aggressive attack plan, leaving Connor with little time.
