The Earth is the home that humanity relies on for survival, continually being plundered while providing for us. When the Earth's patience reaches its limit, what will be the fate of humanity? Recently, several bizarre death incidents have occurred in major cities across the United States, with the crime scenes being bloody and eerie. How did these individuals die? Suicide or homicide? For what reasons? Everything remains shrouded in mystery. Elliot (played by Mark Wahlberg) is a high school teacher studying natural sciences, and this series of events catches his attention; he believes everything is not just a coincidence. A larger scale of human fatalities has occurred, with death spreading like a virus among citizens, and soon, the city’s population nearly disappears. Elliot, along with his wife Alma (played by Zooey Deschanel) and a group of friends, sets off on a journey to escape. What are they trying to avoid? Even they do not know.
