In the not-so-distant near future, the scientific community uncovers a secret shocking enough to change the world. The moon, which seems to be eternally fixed, is actually an unnatural phenomenon, and a mysterious force is controlling it, driving it towards Earth with irreversible momentum. Brian Harper (played by Patrick Wilson), a former veteran astronaut, failed his last mission in a bizarre way; what he witnessed in outer space seems to have touched a nerve for some, ultimately leading to his dismissal and his family's disintegration. On the other hand, KC Houseman (played by John Bradley), a janitor at the space agency, despite his lowly status, is an amateur obsessed with aerospace.
