In the not-so-distant near future, the scientific community uncovers a secret shocking enough to change the world. The moon, which seems to be eternally fixed, is actually an unnatural phenomenon, and a mysterious force is controlling it, driving it towards Earth with irreversible momentum. Brian Harper (played by Patrick Wilson), a former veteran astronaut, failed his last mission in a bizarre way; what he witnessed in outer space seems to have touched a nerve for some, ultimately leading to his dismissal and his family's disintegration. On the other hand, KC Houseman (played by John Bradley), a janitor at the space agency, despite his lowly status, is an amateur obsessed with aerospace. He is the first to notice the existence of lunar life forms and the trend of the moon's fall, and his discoveries are eventually validated by Brian and Brian's former partner, Joe Fowler (played by Halle Berry). In order to save Earth, these three insignificant humans launch a counterattack against the approaching moon...
