The princess of the paradise "Fragrant City," Su Lingfang (played by Zhu Yin), is placed into a small boat by the castle lord to float away before the castle is destroyed, and is rescued and adopted by a priest from the church. Although Su Lingfang has a unique fragrance and is mute by birth, she possesses a heavenly voice that can move the world with just one sound. The harshness of time takes away the priest, burying her mysterious background, and the mute girl lives alone. By chance, she saves Jiang Shaojun (played by Zaxi Dunzhu), a wealthy young man from the post-'80s generation, who is hiding from enemies after a downfall. Injured, Jiang Shaojun falls in love with this innocent girl during his recovery, promising to protect her for life. However, his long stay in the paradise makes him nostalgic for his former extravagant city life. A chance phone call with Lao Ou (played by Zhang Daming) exposes his whereabouts, and he is captured by enemies again. To find Jiang Shaojun, Su Lingfang bravely ventures into this unfamiliar real world, and after several twists and turns, they finally reunite. Initially wanting to use Su Lingfang's heavenly voice to make a comeback in the entertainment industry, Jiang Shaojun eventually finds redemption for his soul through true love, protecting the girl he loves in his own way.
