The film is a continuation created by the original team behind Germany's top box office hit “F**k You, Goethe.” It tells the story of delinquent Zeki (played by Elias M'Barek) who has just been released from prison and finds the location where he hid the loot from his previous heists is now a Goethe school. He disguises himself as a substitute teacher to infiltrate the school and search for the hidden stash. Zeki (played by Elias M'Barek) plans to take his students on a field trip to Thailand to enhance the school's reputation. “F**k You, Goethe 2” opens with the same intensely dense humor, maintaining audience expectations. It expands the concept of a class field trip into a competitive educational arena, continuously intertwining themes like school rankings, funding budgets, ecological commitment, and scholarship measures. Compared to its predecessor, the film develops its supporting characters more richly, yet similarly to “The Hangover 2,” it reuses the basic plot elements against an exotic backdrop and is constrained by subplots, including orphans in Thailand. Directed by Bora Dagtekin, who gained fame with “Turkish for Beginners,” and featuring lead actor Elias M'Barek, the sequel was released last September, surpassing “Soul Kitchen” with 7.7 million viewers to become Germany's annual box office champion, attracting five million viewers in just two weeks.
