To bridge the gap with his family, former CIA agent Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) invites his emotionally troubled ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) and his teenage daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) to vacation in Istanbul. However, before their happy holiday can begin, a gang of criminals sets their sights on the family.
