After the bloody events of the previous installment, Bourne (Matt Damon) and his girlfriend Marie (Franka Potente) seek refuge in a remote seaside town in India, hoping to forget their past lives. One day, assassins from a mysterious organization arrive in the town, shattering the peace of Bourne's world, and Marie is shot during their escape. To uncover the truth, Bourne resumes fighting; he discovers that the CIA, where he used to work, is searching for him again. He becomes embroiled in an assassination plot and is falsely accused of sabotaging a CIA intelligence deal and murdering an agent. With no other choice, Bourne must track down someone impersonating him in order to clear his name and avenge his girlfriend.
