A boy named Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) wakes up in an elevator, oddly unable to remember anything but his name. When the elevator opens, he arrives at a strange place called "The Glade." It's surrounded by tall stone walls, and inside live many boys, including Newt (Thomas Sangster), Chuck (Blake Cooper), and Minho (Ki Hong Lee), all trapped in a maze, while outside a group of monstrous creatures threatens them. One day, the elevator brings a girl named Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), the first girl to arrive there. After that, the maze starts to change, throwing everything into chaos. Thomas and Teresa decide to work together to find a way to escape the maze and uncover the chilling secrets behind it. The film is adapted from the first book of the dystopian science fiction trilogy written by James Dashner.
