A young wealthy woman engages in export trade in New Guinea, leading a dull life. While procuring brightly colored feathers for export, she decides to join an expedition to explore a valley perpetually shrouded in fog. (Due to the valley's year-round thick fog and the fact that it has never been visited, there is no map.) Along the way, she experiences the public lifestyle of the 1960s, encounters indigenous perspectives, and engages in stimulating sexual experiences (elements commonly found in Barbet Schroeder's films). She also immerses herself in the tribal lifestyle of the New Guinea natives. The film began production almost simultaneously with Coppola's "The Godfather," overflowing with the faithless adventures and mystical beauty of the post-60s cultural collective. Through the extraordinary lens of the cinematographer, a gentle sense of hedonism permeates the film. The climactic encounters reverberate with the profound mysteries preserved by primitive tribes. The film’s atmosphere is effectively enhanced by the soundtrack of Pink Floyd, adding a layer of mystique and ambience to the film.
