During the reign of Emperor Xizong of the Ming Dynasty, the eunuch Wei Zhongxian plotted treachery and framed loyal officials. The heroes of the Donglin Party, led by Gu Xiancheng, intended to present the "Sheepskin Secret Scroll" to Emperor Xizong. However, the plan failed, and many loyal officials were killed by Wei, with only Gu Xiancheng's youngest daughter, Xiaoyun, escaping with the "Sheepskin Secret Scroll" into the water, seeking refuge with Qian Yuanwai.
