During the Vietnam War, Colonel Barok (Chuck Norris) and several of his brothers fail a mission and become prisoners of the Viet Cong, whom the U.S. government labels as "missing in action." In the POW camp, the Viet Cong leader, Colonel Yang (Soon-Tek Oh), continuously tortures the prisoners with brutal methods, violating the Geneva Convention and forcing Barok to sign documents admitting to the crimes of aggression against Vietnam. Despite enduring persecution, he refuses to yield. As he watches his brothers being killed one by one, he resolves to fight back and manages to escape the POW camp after a harrowing ordeal.
