Louise (played by Meg Ryan) is a brilliant lawyer who returns a day early to their home in a small town to surprise her husband Ian (played by Timothy Hutton), who just came back from Chicago. Seeing the scattered rose petals on the floor, Louise is thrilled, thinking it's a little surprise from her husband, only to discover she has become a stumbling block to Ian and his mistress (played by Kristen Bell) eloping. Louise is not willing to let go easily, as she firmly believes her husband still loves her. After accidentally knocking Ian unconscious, Louise "kidnaps" him. She first deals with the mistress who shows up, and then employs a "carrot and stick" strategy on her husband. However, all of Louise's attempts to salvage their love fail, and her husband remains unmoved while tied up on the bathroom toilet, until a group of burglars breaks into their home... This film was showcased at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival and received great praise from The Hollywood Reporter.
