Modi (played by Joel Basman) was born into a very traditional Orthodox family, with his father managing a large company, and Modi being the sole heir to that company. Modi is the kind of Jewish person that can be recognized at first glance, and at home, he has always played the role of a good boy, obedient to his strict and devout mother (played by Sunnyi Melles). Time flies, and Modi is approaching the age when he should settle down. His mother starts arranging blind dates for him, but Modi is completely uninterested in the girls she introduces. At this crucial moment, a girl named Laura (played by Noémie Schmidt) enters Modi's life. Laura is cheerful, warm, and beautiful, immediately capturing Modi's heart; however, Laura is not Jewish, and their relationship is bound to face opposition from Modi's mother.
