"Bloodbath at Yanmen Pass" tells the story of the events following the Lugou Bridge Incident in 1937, as Beiping and Datong fell one after another. The Japanese forces led by the Itagaki Division advanced towards Taiyuan in Shanxi, with a decisive battle taking place in Xinkou. The Yanmen Pass became the only supply line for the Japanese army to support their troops in Xinkou. Our Eighth Route Army dispatched part of the 120th Division to Yanmen Pass to carry out ambush and blockade operations, aiming to completely destroy the Japanese army's only lifeline. The ambush at Yanmen Pass is a significant and classic battle in the history of our army. It occurred during the War of Resistance Against Japan and ranks alongside the Pingxingguan victory and the burning of Yangmingbao Airport as one of the three famous battles fought by the Eighth Route Army in the early stages of the war. According to director Wang Mingjun, the film "Bloodbath at Yanmen Pass" interprets themes of war and humanity, brutality and familial bonds, blending humanistic colors into a war-themed film, greatly enhancing its watchability and deepening the thematic height of war films. Wang Mingjun stated that "Bloodbath at Yanmen Pass" holds significant importance in promoting patriotic spirit, publicizing Yanmen Pass, and accelerating the development of tourism in the Yanmen Pass scenic area.
