Jorge (played by Quim Gutiérrez) has to put his future life plans on hold after his father suffers a stroke. For seven years, he takes care of his father while studying for a business degree while working as a caretaker. He envies the academic success of the girl he secretly loves, Natalia, and wants to find a better job, but repeatedly fails due to his experience as a caretaker. His brother Antonio, who has a terrible relationship with their father, is serving time in prison and falls in love with a beautiful woman named Paula (played by Marta Etura) who is incarcerated for drug use. Paula gets into trouble by flirting with other prisoners’ boyfriends and wants to get pregnant to avoid retaliation while in the prison maternity ward. Antonio initially just wants to have fun with her, but soon falls in love and wants to help her conceive, but is unable due to his own infertility. Therefore, he asks his brother Jorge to visit the prison regularly to help Paula get pregnant. To fulfill his brother's wish, Jorge helps Paula successfully conceive but finds himself developing feelings for her. Jorge decides to stop bearing the burden of responsibility, face his own desires, end his relationship with Natalia, and wait for Paula's release. This film won the European Film Label Award at the 63rd Venice Film Festival.
