After Emperor Yongzheng usurped the throne during the Qing Dynasty, he became tyrannical and ungrateful, greatly intensifying the "literary inquisition." The two families of Grand Academician Lü Liuliang and Cha Sitian suffered calamities. Lü Si Niang, the surviving daughter of Lü Liuliang, used her extraordinary martial arts to sever Yongzheng's head, honoring her deceased father and uncles from the Minshan Sect. To escape persecution, she went into hiding in the Qiyun Mountains of Penglai, Dongzhou, with her niece Wen Mei, the descendant of the Cha family, Qiu Ying, and the orphan Wang Xian. For 12 years, the three lived under assumed identities, training their martial arts while making a living through small trades, seeking opportunities for revenge on their family's enemies. One day, while selling vegetarian tofu on the street, Qiu Ying suddenly spotted their enemy, Ma Long, who had betrayed and killed the Cha family. Qiu Ying followed Ma Long seeking revenge. Meanwhile, at the market, Wang Xian and Wen Mei's martial skills frightened away Ma Long's two henchmen, Wang Wu and Zhao Liu, inadvertently revealing the identities of the recluses. Upon receiving this report, Ma Long decided to visit Lü Si Niang at night. All of this was anticipated by Lü Si Niang. Not only did Ma Long fail to gather any useful information, but he was also pursued by Lü Si Niang and had his left arm broken in a confrontation at the pagoda forest. Qiu Ying followed Ma Long back to the capital but was captured due to being outnumbered. Ma Long conspired with Governor Nian to use Qiu Ying as bait to capture Lü Si Niang. Bearing extraordinary martial prowess, Lü Si Niang took the risk to explore the governor's office twice and ultimately forced Ma Long to release Qiu Ying. With Lü Si Niang’s identity exposed, she told Wen Mei about the Lü family's misfortunes and the event of killing Yongzheng. However, all of this was overheard by Wang Xian, who resented Lü Si Niang for not marrying Wen Mei to him, eventually betraying his allies and becoming a dog of the Qing court. Due to Wang Xian's betrayal, Lü Si Niang could no longer stay hidden in Dongzhou and urged Qiu Ying and Wen Mei to leave first. Unwilling to abandon his family's vengeance, Qiu Ying insisted on staying, and Lü Si Niang agreed to let him go to the capital. Qiu Ying encountered Ma Long in a brothel, and during their fight, Ma Long began to gain the upper hand, luring Qiu Ying to a stone bridge on the outskirts of the city where Qing soldiers ambushed him, just as Lü Si Niang and Wen Mei were heading to the capital. Under the cover of Lü Si Niang and Wen Mei, Qiu Ying burst through the siege despite being injured, but unfortunately fell into Wang Xian's ambush. Wang Xian attempted to kill Qiu Ying, but Lü Si Niang arrived on horseback and used "Iron Bodhi" to cut the nets, rescuing Qiu Ying and punishing Wang Xian. In the late autumn, the trio arrived at the foot of Qianshan, where Lü Si Niang inherited her master's teachings and embraced a monastic life. Qiu Ying and Wen Mei embarked on a new journey.
