The only family in Japan currently living in a castle, the Hinode family, watches over the nearby Lake Biwa, continuing their legend that spans over a thousand years. It is said that Lake Biwa has granted some kind of divine power to both the Hinode and the Saku families, resulting in both families trembling for centuries, always attempting to eliminate each other. To this day, a distant relative of the Hinode family, Ryosuke (played by Masaki Okada), goes to the main house for training according to family rules. He learns under Toko Fujimiya (played by Shiho Takiguchi) and is forced to wear a striking red uniform to accompany the Hinode family's self-proclaimed strongest heir, Jiro (played by Gaku Hamada), to school. At school, Jiro encounters the Saku family's heir, Hiroki (played by Dai Watanabe), with whom he has a feud, leaving Ryosuke, caught in the middle, in great pain. What was an ordinary life suddenly sees a dramatic change when the principal, who should have no divine powers, uninvitedly appears and forces the Hinode family to move out of the castle, or else...This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Manzai Gaku.
