Kohei Kobayashi (played by Gaku Hamada), Shinya Nagai, and Koji Ohta are employees of the appliance manufacturer Kimura Electric. In order to keep their jobs, they reluctantly accept the president's demanding task of developing a walking robot for company promotion within a short period of time. However, the robot "Shinkai" unexpectedly falls and gets damaged just before the exhibition. In desperation, the three decide to use a casting call for puppeteers to select a person of matching stature to impersonate the robot and bluff their way through.
