Seven-year-old De Jiu (played by Zheng Zhihun) lives with his younger sister De Xi and their grandfather (played by Lee Shun-jae) in a small village. A few years ago, De Jiu's father passed away in a traffic accident, and their mother, deeply affected, soon followed him to the afterlife. Their grandfather can only take odd jobs to support the two grandchildren, but he can't even afford to buy De Jiu a toy car. As De Jiu prepares to enter elementary school, his grandfather realizes that his time is limited and worries that young De Jiu won't be able to take care of himself and his sister.
