Winner of the Jury Grand Prize at the Asia-Pacific Film Awards, Oleg is nearing 30 and works as a healthcare professional. After each grueling shift, he enjoys drinking heavily. His wife, Katya, is also a doctor working in the hospital's emergency room, but her patience with Oleg is wearing thin. One day, she announces that she wants a divorce, but they still have to live together in their cramped apartment until Oleg finds a new place. He also realizes that significant changes are happening at work, making his life even more difficult... Director Boris Khlebnikov is one of the most interesting directors in contemporary Russian cinema, and his work in this film, which faithfully depicts a specific environment, showcases his talent. Despite certain exaggerated techniques, he still conveys compassion and understanding when describing the protagonist's struggles and emotions. The film employs precise directorial techniques to illustrate a relationship that is undergoing "arrhythmia," just as Oleg experiences with the patients he treats in the ambulance.
