The four beautiful sisters of the Kitazawa family, living in Kyoto, include the eldest sister Aya (played by Misako Kono) and her three younger sisters, Akane (played by Atsuko Asano), An (played by Yasuko Sawaguchi), and Ran (played by Yoko Tomita), who all come from an orphanage. After their parents pass away, Aya gives up on marrying her boyfriend Iwak城 (played by Muga Takewaki) and fully takes on the responsibility of caring for her sisters.
