Two couples, one before and one after, part ways in two different time periods. The young lovers are traveling in Greece; the man is returning to England to visit his mother, who is unexpectedly in a coma, while the woman is going back to Germany to continue her studies. The scene shifts to 30 years later, where another middle-aged couple, an actress and her anthropologist husband, face the erosion of their relationship and agree to divorce. The transition between time and space is seamless, yet life has changed several times. At this moment, the young lovers reunite after a long separation, finding themselves at a loss for words. Brecht’s minimalist style is present throughout, and a few close-ups of hands and feet bring the characters vividly to life. In the same time and space, the paths of the four characters overlap; is it a dream's illusion, or the ambiguity of reality? Watching this film is like a journey of quiet contemplation, feeling the solitude of life and the impermanence of love.
