During a trip to the Tuvalu Islands, David (Xavier Samuel) meets the gentle and beautiful Mia (Laura Brent), and they fall in love at first sight. After a whirlwind romance, David and Mia believe that the only way to express their love is through marriage. Thus, David gathers his three best friends and prepares to go to Mia's hometown in Australia for the wedding. Upon arriving at Mia's hometown, David is surprised to find that the simple and down-to-earth Mia comes from a wealthy and prominent family. Clearly, Mia's parents are filled with doubt and discontent toward this sudden son-in-law, and with David's three friends constantly causing trouble, the wedding ceremony that was supposed to be joyful and happy turns into a daunting trial.
