Compared to "Atlas Shrugged: Part One," this film not only enlisted Duncan Scott as the screenwriter but also underwent a significant cast overhaul, telling the story of the strong woman Dagny Taggart. In the family-owned Taggart Transcontinental Railroad company, the current president is the family's eldest son, James Taggart, while the vice president is Dagny Taggart. The siblings have drastically different ideas and methods to save the company's precarious operations. One only talks about investing in the Mexico - San Sebastián branch without providing any planning or execution proposals, often viewing matters through a sour grapes mentality that begrudges others' success; the other, driven by "I am like a starving person, looking for anyone who can get things done!" works diligently with Eddie Willers to save the Taggart Railroad, eventually collaborating with Hank Rearden of Rearden Steel to successfully complete the Rio Norte Line using Rearden's newly invented alloy for the tracks. However, this success turns out to be another unfortunate beginning. The world economy is deteriorating further, with unemployment reaching 24% and gasoline costing $42 per gallon. At this time, the astute investor, both artist and businessman Dagny Taggart, discovers a way to make money. Dagny is the COO of the Taggart business empire and chairman of the board. She finds a device that seems capable of changing the world and solving the energy crisis in a now-abandoned, once-glorious factory—a type of engine. However, this excellent equipment has not been mass-produced, and no one can explain why. To make matters worse, there are those who are secretly monitoring Dagny's every move regarding this engine project...
