Adapted from the German classical epic "Nibelungenlied." The film consists of two parts, with the subtitle of the first part being "Siegfried" or "The Death of Siegfried," also translated as "The Dragon Slayer Meets the Fairy"; the second part is "Kriemhild's Revenge." The plot of the first part: Prince Siegfried of the House of Burgundy learns from legend that if he bathes in the blood of a dragon from the forest, he will be invulnerable to swords and knives, and he immediately sets out to slay the dragon and collect its blood. However, a leaf blows down and sticks to his back, preventing him from absorbing the dragon's blood. Conceited about his invulnerability, he leads an army to attack the realm of the dwarves, seizing the magic cloak of invisibility and the treasure of the Nibelungen. Later, with the help of these two magical items, he defeats the warrior of the Icelandic queen and marries his sister, Kriemhild. The second part describes Kriemhild, after Siegfried's death, marrying the king of the Huns, Etzel, and giving birth to a child. She invites her brothers to a party and encourages Etzel to take revenge on Hagen, the killer of her former husband Siegfried. However, Hagen is protected by her brothers, leading her to engage in a fierce battle to force her brothers to hand over Hagen.
