Bart (played by Peter Weller) has a perfect life: a beautiful wife, lovely children, and a promising career in New York's upper class. However, while his wife and son are away on vacation, an unwelcome guest arrives at home. One night, Bart is working at home on an important project that could lead to his promotion. He is so focused on his work that he is completely unaware of a "tenant" in his basement who has other plans, which may take up a lot of his time. Finally, a battle between man and mouse begins, as Bart nearly goes insane trying to kill the mouse, almost destroying his own house in the process. He is tormented by this mouse to the point of losing his former vitality, even appearing distracted at work. When will this never-ending war, fought day and night, finally come to an end?
