American tourist Hayley (Alison Pill) falls in love with Italian man Michelangelo (Flavio Parenti) while traveling in Italy, and they quickly get engaged. Hayley's parents also travel from the U.S. to meet Michelangelo's family in Italy. Hayley's father Jerry (Woody Allen), a retired opera agent, is surprised to discover Michelangelo's father Giancarlo's operatic talent and tries to promote him at all costs... Antonio and Milly (Alessandra Mastronardi) are a newlywed couple starting their new life in Rome, but when Milly goes out alone, she loses her phone and finds herself unable to get back, even encountering movie star Luca Salta; while at the hotel, Antonio meets a prostitute named Anna (Penélope Cruz), leading to a series of humorous situations...
