Nine months ago, at the age of thirty, Kaoru Uemura (played by Yukie Nakama) suddenly received a notice to participate in a training program in Oklahoma, USA. Realizing that she had become an expendable person in the police force, Uemura felt anxious but also determined to achieve something noteworthy. Just then, an opportunity fell from the sky. While performing a task on the street, she accidentally discovered a caregiver pushing a deceased elderly man in a wheelchair. Further investigation revealed that the caregiver, Shonen (played by Yusuke Nakayama), was actually a fugitive wanted in Nagano Prefecture. In front of Uemura, Shonen confessed to the murder of the homeowner's daughter. Proud and elated, Uemura took on the responsibility of escorting the suspect under the watchful eyes of the public and her peers. However, upon arriving in Nagano, Shonen retracted his earlier confession, putting Uemura in a difficult position.
