Every day is a completely new day for Christine (Nicole Kidman), as a terrifying car accident 20 years ago has left her memory frozen in that moment. The severe damage to her brain means she can only remember for 24 hours. For Christine, each day, she wakes up in a strange bed next to a strange man, who turns out to be her husband Ben (Colin Firth). Every day, Christine talks on the phone with her doctor, Nash (Mark Strong), who is responsible for her treatment. With Dr. Nash's help, Christine gradually pieces together her history; it turns out that at the end of each day, she writes down the events that occurred in a diary. However, Christine gradually discovers that the entries in her diary differ greatly from what Ben tells her. One day, when Christine opens her diary again, she finds a note written inside: Don't trust Ben.
