Shiva (portrayed by Ajay Deol) is a mountaineering guide living at the southern foothills of the Himalayas and a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. In his own words, those who come to climb either seek self-discovery or the divine, and he takes pride in being able to guide them. One day, a Bulgarian exchange student named Orga (played by Erika Kaar) joins his team, and during a hero-saving-beauty moment, they both fall in love and bear the fruits of their love. Under Shiva's desperate pleas, Orga decides to give birth to Gora (played by Abigail Eames) and leaves her with Shiva, then returns to her homeland to pursue her dreams. Eight years later, an earthquake reveals the truth to Gora that her mother is still alive. Gora insists on meeting her mother, forcing Shiva to take his daughter to Bulgaria.
