Beatriz (Salma Hayek) is a Mexican immigrant living in the United States who works as a massage therapist. Mrs. Casey (Connie Britton), born into a wealthy family, is one of her clients and is very fond of the honest and earnest Beatriz. One day, after providing services at Mrs. Casey's home, Beatriz finds herself unable to return due to a car breakdown. Consequently, Mrs. Casey warmly invites her to stay and join the dinner they are about to have. At the dinner, Beatriz meets Mrs. Casey's husband Grant (David Warshofsky) and the guest of honor Doug (John Lithgow). Doug is a typical capitalist, ruthless and cold-hearted, and all of his opinions make Beatriz feel nauseous. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, she starts to confront Doug directly.
