In 1979, Yoon Seo-eun (played by Kim Ha-na) is a third-year student in the English department at Silla University, and she has a long-standing crush on her senior, Dong-hee (played by Park Young-woo). She yearns for a beautiful life, but Dong-hee likes another student. One day, Seo-eun accidentally discovers an old intercom. One night, the intercom suddenly transmits a call from another boy. Surprised, Seo-eun begins to communicate with him. Through their conversations, she learns that the boy is also a student at Silla University, named Ji-in (played by Yoo Ji-tae). They agree to meet the next day under the clock tower, but Seo-eun waits in vain, as Ji-in does not show up. Meanwhile, Ji-in also waits for Seo-eun in the heavy rain. During their evening conversations through the intercom, they each complain about the other. The next evening, they realize that they come from different times and spaces.
